The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the schedule for the 16th Twenty20 League on Friday (February 17). The tournament will begin on March 31, 2023 with a match between the defending champions, Gujarat Titans and Chennai Super Kings. Meanwhile, the summit clash will be held on May 28.

The opening match will be followed by a double-header on April 1 the next day, with the first match between Punjab Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders followed by a clash between Lucknow Supergiants and Delhi Capitals. Apart from that, MI and CSK, KKR and SRH, RR and RCB, DC and PBKS & LSG and GT will play in doubleheader. During the break, the members of Group A will compete against the remaining four teams in Group B, and so on.

In terms of venues, 12 venues have been reserved for IPL 2023. So, apart from the 10 home venues of the various teams, Guwahati and Dharamshala have been added as two additional venues.
