Du Plessis’ effort surpassed CSK all-rounder Shivam Dube’s 102-metre hit for the longest six in IPL 2023. The South African equaled his former CSK captain MS Dhoni’s 115-metre hit, the 10th longest six in IPL history.

Robin Uthappa joined the list of longest six-hitters during his tenure with RCB. Chasing 152 runs against Mumbai Indians in IPL 2010, Uthappa scored 23 runs off 15 balls.
Uthappa hits Dwayne Bravo for a terrific six (120m) in the 13th over of the RCB innings. The right-hander shuffled across the off-stump and Bravo hit a full-length delivery over wide long-on to Miles. The ball flew straight over the concrete roof of Brabourne Stadium.

The former Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings) captain hit a 122-metre six in an IPL match against RCB in the 2011 season.
Gilchrist scored 106 off 55 balls with eight boundaries and nine sixes at Dharamshala at a strike rate of 192.72. The biggest maximum of the day came off the bowling of RCB fast bowler Charl Langevelt.
South Africa tried a slower ball when Gilchrist sent the ball out of the stadium for a 122m six. Gilchrist actually hit three consecutive sixes off Langevelt.

RCB slumped to 78 for 6 against Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2008 and Praveen Kumar was promoted up the order in a pinch-hitting role. The move paid off with the Indian speedster hitting two fours and three sixes in his 30-ball 34.

Praveen Kumar also hit Royals part-timer Yusuf Pathan for a six over a distance of 124 metres. He hit it with perfect power over the long-on boundary and the ball missed the roof.
While playing for Chennai Super Kings against the now defunct Deccan Chargers in IPL 2008, Albie Morkel hit left-arm spinner Pragyan Ojha for a 125-metre six.
Morkel’s blade-blasting knock still tops the charts after 15 seasons in the cash-rich league.
The South African went down on one knee and hammered it to mid-wicket and the ball went out of the Chepauk Stadium in Chennai.
